Where Have I Been?

Hi everyone

Well as the title suggests, I thought I'd pop on to say that I'm still here and haven't yet left this mortal coil LOL! We're still doing our home reno but we're hoping to have it done by Christmas. Little bits at a time and before we know it, it will be done. I know I just swore and said the 'C' word didn't I?! Yes it is nearly that time of year again where we start our Holiday crafts.

I do love that time of year but have to admit I'm not in the zone yet. Perhaps it's because there's just a lot going on and a lot to think about at the moment. However we did do some much needed gardening the past few weeks and we now have some pretty jasmine out the front which smells amazing along with the lavender and rock plants. I'm loving the front garden now, it's so much more inviting than it used to be. We also found a pink lemonade blueberry bush which is so pretty and not something I knew existed. Our rogue squirrel, named Sid (yes I name the creatures I find in my garden lol), loves our strawberry plants and of course the blueberries. He's super cute and I love watching how he sneaks up to the strawberries before he pounces on them!

It's beautiful this time of year with all the different animals, insects, birds, butterflies etc we are Blessed to see right outside our back door. If I ever feel overwhelmed or panicked all I have to do is go and sit outside and watch Mother Nature at her best. It calms my mind and makes me feel like I can breathe again. Sometimes anxiety and depression can feel like a vortex that you can't get out of but nature is a wonderful way to ground yourself again and I'm so grateful that I can do that right at home.

Oh and my baby dragon (Wednesday) had her first clutch of eggs. We were proud parents and now she's all grown up. Where's that time gone? Other than being exhausted and I would imagine overwhelmed, she is fine and recovered really well. Unfortunately because they were not fertilized eggs we had to take them out and did that when she'd gone to sleep so it didn't distress her. She laid 11 by the time we got home that night, 2 more that evening and then 1 popped out two days later. So 14 in total and that's a lot for such a little creature. It was quite funny but we said how I'm the mother of dragons - well just one dragon. For those who don't know, it's a reference to Game of Thrones.

Here's a couple of pics of the day. Even to the untrained eye her eggs, when first laid, looked healthy so we were pleased. I have to admit she was a bit grumpy but wouldn't you be if you'd just 'popped out' 11 eggs?? and then another 3??

My other two 'kids' (Shakira and Blue) are doing well although age is definitely catching up with them now. If you look at the pics below you would never know that they are 17 and 18 respectively would you? They still act like kitten/puppy but apparently this is quite normal after a certain age and now they past senile. What's beyond senile LOL! Still they are all a Blessing to us and we treasure every moment we have with them, however long that may be.

Let me know in the comments if you have any helpful tips and tricks about gardening? I'm learning but loving it and would love to hear your ideas.

Also, do you have any old age animals that you have hints and tips to share? I'd love to read all about them.

Don't forget to subscribe and I'll see you in the next one.

Bye for now.
