One Layer Card | MFT | Witch Way Is The Candy? | Halloween 2018 Series 4

Hi friends

Today's tutorial is a super sped up one but one I hope you'll enjoy and try out.

I used My Favorite Things (MFT) Witch Way Is The Candy? stamp set and Prismacolor pencils for this tutorial and a bit of masking to create a one layer card.

This was simple to do but you will need a bit of time to do the masking as well as the coloring. I love to color so this didn't bother me and I had fun trying to use my Prismacolor pencils to shade and create dimension. Another way to use your Prismacolor pencils is with a low odour mineral spirit to blend the colors together but that lesson is for another day :)

Once the coloring was complete, I simply (notice how everything is simple? - this is because I want you to know that you can do this too) folded a 11 x 4.25 inch piece of Stampin' Up Pumpkin Pie cardstock in half at 5.5 inches to create the base card. The Stampin' Up Whisper White cardstock measuring 5.5 x 4.25 inches was used for the whole image and die cut from Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles LG dies, for some fun stitching around the edges.

The whole panel was stuck to the front of the card base and I used a Sakura Black Glaze pen to define the eyes. I also added some sparkle and shine using Tonic Studios Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss pen to the hat, moon and pumpkins and Tonic Studios Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the eyes on the cat, frog and bat.

Honestly, I could have colored the whole background to create a moody night scene but I quite like the simplicity of this and you still get that Halloween scene.

Lawn Fawn | Haunted House Gable Box | Halloween 2018 Series 3

Hi friends

Today's project isn't actually a card - shocking! :) I decided to make something a little different that you can use to trick or treat each other this Halloween.

Today we're making a gable treat box, Halloween style and it's super cute and fun to do.

I hope you enjoy the video.

I used a Lori Whitlock svg cut file and my Brother Scan n Cut for the box. However, you can purchase Lawn Fawn's Scalloped Treat Box which co-ordinates with the Scalloped Treat Box Haunted House Add-on die set that I used to create this cute project.

I started by cutting the gable box out using the svg cut file with my Brother Scan n Cut machine. I used Stampin' Up card in Smoky Slate. I wanted to add some texture/dimension without any bulk so I used Tim Holtz Bricked stencil to create the look of bricks on the house/box. To do this I used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink in Hickory Smoke and an Tim Holtz Ink Blending Tool. If your stencil is a little delicate you can pounce the blending tool on it instead of swiping the ink on.

While the ink dried, which doesn't take too long, I die cut the elements using my Sizzix Big Shot Machine for the Haunted House in Stampin' Up Basic Black, Smoky Slate and Daffodil Delight cardstock. I think a vellum ghost would look super cute too.

Once the elements were die cut all I had to do was put it together and decide where I wanted to place them on the box. As a final finishing touch I added some Tonic Studios Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss pen to some of the elements.

I think it turned out super cute and considering it was the first time I had played with these dies/cut files I was chuffed that it worked out great.

I have linked products above to where you can purchase the products from with the exception of the Stampin' Up card as I'm no longer a demo so cannot link you to my page. However I will also leave a link/s below where you can purchase similar cardstock so you can make this project too.

Huge Pumpkin | Mama Elephant Card | Halloween 2018 Series 1

Hi friends

Today's video is the first in my Halloween 2018 series and uses a Mama Elephant die called Favor Bag Accessory Pumpkin or at least that's the only name I could find as it wasn't on the packaging.

So if you love to paper piece or if you love to do an inlay-type technique then this is for you. I also created a scenery card as you know I love to make these. Have I said love too many times? Can you ever say love too many times? LOL.

Anyway, I first had a card base measuring 11 x 4.25 inches and folded it at 5.5. The first layer/background to our scene measures 5.25 x 4.

Next I used some black cardstock to create both the fence for the front part of the card and the forest in the background. This helps to create the scene or picture if you will for your cute but super HUGE pumpkin.

I used a stitched circle die in yellow for the moon and this will also act as a backdrop for the teeny tiny bats. Aren't they so super cute?

I have to admit the pumpkin was pretty easy to put together although I'm still not sure what all the pieces are for lol! I will have to just keep making them. For the most part I can see from the pumpkin die set that you can make a few different jack-o-lanterns with the different face parts etc.

For the sentiment I used a sentiment from Stampin' Up Spooky Fun stamps and used Versamark Watermark ink and Stampendous Detail White embossing powder to heat set it.

I popped our pumpkin guy up on foam tape, this gives dimension as well as showing you that the forest is in the distance.

I also popped up the fence on two layers of foam tape for even more dimension. You'll see in the video that I had a little trouble getting it placed right. You want to put foam along the fence but avoid putting it where it will sit on top of the pumpkin. That part needs to sit flat or it will look odd.

Once all the pieces were in place all I needed to do was to add some shimmer and shine. We all want that right? Right! :)

As you all know I love to create scenery style cards and so this one was a great one to start with for the Halloween season. I hope you enjoy!
